This is the Colorado River that crosses Austin Texas in its way to Mexico.
40city.jpg
Austin is the Capital of Texas, but is a rather small, clean and friendly looking city.
41city2.jpg
A couple of all buildings and a lot of New ones
50 capitol1.jpg
This I did not expect, It seems that Austin has a capitol, not really White, more like redish-pink

This monument is in memory of those that lost their lives fighting for the south during the Civil war.

Not Kidding,,,,,,

Actually, it turns out that about two million bats make their living in the crevices of the bridges that cross the Colorado river.
72 brige2.jpg
The Bats travel from Mexico to Texas in the Summer, and have found their home right next to the Four Seassons Hotel.
73bats1.jpg
Between 7:00 PM and 8:00PM the Bats emerge from their homes and go in search of food
73bats2.jpg
The most interesting part of the story is that the people from Austin have learned to live with the bats.
73bats3.jpg
They are not feared or destroyed. That is really amazing.
80 6street.jpg
As for a different type of night life.. the 6th street is Austin's place to party.

81antro1.jpg
There are many... many bars, Pubs, and Billiards most host with live music, Jazz, Rock, Piano, etc.
81antro2.jpg
The street was mostly empty because is was early and because most of the University students are on vacation
82antro3.jpg
Still I think you can get the feeling of the ambiance
90piza1.jpg
By the way, there where many small but really good Pizza places.

Rather small, and green pool, but it was 80 degrees with 100% humidity to it was great.
